I will show you how you can slow you video down in windows movie maker 2, this is effect in windows movie maker is called, Slow down, Half and you can find it under the Tools, Video Effects TAB.
I have made a video of a video which has been on YouTube for a while now some guy bursting a water balloon, i had to try and slow this video down even more just to see what it might look like, i have added the (Slow down, Half) effect on the video clip 2 times which means the video will run for 2 mins, every time you add the effect it will slow down the video even more, heres the video of how its done.
I have also included the video after it was completed below.
The hamster wheel original.
Now the hamster running in a slow motion video, i have added the slow down effect 2 times on the video time line.
This wont work the best, but it might at least let you see what you filmed or even know whats going on in the video.
Night time movie making is pointless unless you have the correct lighting, but sometimes you might end up filming at night anyway, i have a few videos that are just too dark to use on a website or upload, this is where you may be able to bring some life back into your video, using a feature in movie maker that is a Video Effect and its called Brightness, Increase and you can also use Grayscale to take out the color which sometimes look better in darker videos.
Now i have a video of some puppies but it was filmed at night time, here is a
small short clip of how dark it looks before editing.
When you have your video in the time line we will select from Tools, Video Effects.
Then drag the Brightness Increase Icon onto the video time line,
i have added the icon onto the timeline 3 times, the more times the brighter it becomes, i have also added the Grayscale (Black and white) icon i dragged that onto the video time line as well, here is the video after i fixed the dark video.
When i first started using movie maker, i never really took any notice of the
special effects that you can use with it, i have only been making and editing
videos for a 2 years now and i have learned a lot, i want to tell you about the first basic effects (transitions) that windows movie maker can do and then over time i will go further into detail of movie maker, many things i my self will learn along the way, watch the video and read below for more information.
There is no beginning or end in using special effects but i will show you some of the more easy to understand things to start with.
I will be making another puppy movie with about 100 photos and i will be using pictures of cute jack Russell’s, as i have 2 myself.
I will change the duration time to 4 seconds,
you can do this by clicking on Tools then Options, then click on Advanced TAB and change the picture duration time.
Then i can drag all the photos onto the video time line, for editing.
Now i will be adding the fade effect or (transition) to every photo in the video, you do this by selecting the Tools then Video Transition’s icon, you will then see a large number of transitions which you can use in your video.
Right mouse click on the Fade icon then on your keyboard hold Ctrl and press c to copy the transition, then click on first picture then hold Ctrl and press v to paste that transition onto the picture, you can then press Ctrl v on the next picture and so on to repeat the process on all the photos until you have finished, i am going to add some music into the video as well, after that you can save your movie and its ready to be uploaded to YouTube or your website, lets see how the video of the cute jack Russell puppies turned out.
